5.3. Syllabus

Syllabus (or programme)

 

1. The study of linguistic use. Discourse analysis, conversational analysis, textual linguistics. Dialogical pragmatics. The critical analysis of discourse.

 

2. Discourse analysis in Hispanic linguistic studies.

 

3. The communicative framework. Discourse, text and context.

 

4. Types of discourse and types of text in Spanish. Textual genres and typologies. Written discourse and verbal discourse.

 

5. Discourse structure in Spanish. The grammatical component. The pragmatic component. The textual component.

 

6. Adequacy, coherence and cohesion.

 

7. Analysis of relevant phenomena for the characterisation of discourse in Spanish through the study of various types of texts. Presentation, argument, description, narration and prescription. Dialogue. Administrative, legal, scientific/technical, journalistic, advertising and literary texts.
